Are you passionate about supporting your community and helping people live healthier lives? We're looking for a motivated and organised Community Health Champions Coordinator to help deliver and grow Reading's successful Community Health Champions programme. Working in partnership with the Alliance for Cohesion and Racial Equality (ACRE) and New Directions College, you'll play a key role in empowering local people to share important health and wellbeing messages within their communities and to advocate for their priorities.

About The Role:

You'll support the recruitment, training, and coordination of volunteer Community Health Champions across Reading. Working closely with partners, you'll help organise events, share information, and keep the network connected and informed through newsletters, online sessions, and local community activities.



You'll also be the person managing the Adults and Communities sections of the Reading Services Guide, helping people access important information about health and wellbeing support available to them.



You'll also work with a wide range of partners, including Adult Social Care colleagues, to ensure the information, advice and guidance held on the Reading Service Guide is accurate, accessible and relevant for communities in Reading.



The role also involves managing programme records, coordinating training registrations, and supporting the monitoring and evaluation of the project. You'll help ensure that activities are asset based, culturally humble and that the champions are supported to be effective in removing the barriers to good health and wellbeing across Reading.

About You:

You'll be an enthusiastic communicator who enjoys working with people from all walks of life. You'll bring experience of supporting volunteers, coordinating projects or events, and working in partnership with community groups or public health teams.



Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and confidence using digital tools are essential, along with a proactive and flexible approach. You'll be a great team player who can also work independently, with a genuine passion for improving health and reducing inequalities in local communities.
