Job Summary

Lochee Community Larder & Cafe SCIO is a growing local charity and is looking for reliable and community-minded volunteers to support the day-to-day running of our community larder.

This role is customer-facing and hands-on, helping to create a welcoming, organised, and respectful space for everyone who visits. You'll be part of a

friendly, supportive, and close-knit team

, where volunteers are valued and play an important role in supporting the local community.

This is a practical and rewarding volunteering opportunity with a clear impact every session.

Key Duties

Welcome customers and help guide them through the larder, especially first-time visitors Explain how the larder works and support customers to move around the space confidently Help monitor different areas of the larder and ensure shared guidelines are followed Build positive, respectful relationships with regular customers Unload deliveries and help move stock at the start of sessions Stock shelves and keep the larder tidy and well organised Support the team with general tasks during opening hours

What We're Looking For

Friendly, approachable, and confident communicating with people Reliable, punctual, and organised Comfortable working both as part of a team and independently on tasks Able to carry out regular lifting at the start of shifts (e.g. crates and boxes) Willing to follow guidance and larder procedures Comfortable handling money

Support & Training

Full induction and role-specific training provided

Two-week trial period

to ensure the role is a good fit Supportive team environment with clear guidance

Additional Information

Time commitment:

Volunteering takes place between

10am-2pm

Monday, Wednesday

Friday

. Volunteers can support on

one day or more

, depending on availability. Volunteers can commit weekly, fortnightly, or flexibly - the more availability, the better
