Community Learning & Development Officer (Youth Work)

TEMPORARY FUNDED POST UNTIL March 2026 - (7 hours per week)



The Community Learning Development (CLD) department are seeking experienced, enthusiastic, driven staff to join the Faculty of Access & Continuing Learning . The primary focus of this role is to support the development and delivery of high-quality youth learning programmes.

The CLD Officer will:

Work with new and existing partners (including Youth organisations, primary and secondary schools) in the South & North West Glasgow areas to support the development of the community hub programmes within the Cardonald and Anniesland Campuses. Manage and support a small team of adult/youthwork staff to engage and create engaging programmes of activities which will encourage learning, creativity, wellbeing and healthy living within all youth focussed programmes. Manage the delivery of all youth focussed programmes, ensuring relevant health & safety protocols are followed. Evaluate, review and assess the impact of all youth programmes and submit reports as required. Develop positive working collaborations with local, regional and national CLD and youth work providers. Identify new CLD and Youth focussed initiatives. Work as part of the CLD team to identify possible funding streams to support new youth work initiatives.


This role will have a particular focus on supporting our Youth programmes, in particular the College's Community Youth & Community Hub programmes based at the Cardonald and Anniesland Campus.

The successful candidate will require to be educated to degree level or SCQF level 9 in a relevant discipline and have relevant knowledge and experience of working in the community and in a youth work setting.

The successful candidate will require to be available to work during the day and in the evenings when the Community Youth Hub programmes are being delivered and to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, work to their own initiative and relate well to working with community groups and young people.

Secondment opportunities will be considered.
