Job Description
We have an opportunity for experienced and compassionate midwives to join our growing community network, providing personalised postnatal care and support to mothers and families.
The role offers flexibility and autonomy -- ideal for midwives who wish to work in the community, focusing on one-to-one, meaningful care beyond the hospital setting.
You will work directly with families in their homes, offering both practical and emotional support during the postnatal period, and liaising with other professionals to ensure continuity and quality of care.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Provide high-quality, evidence-based postnatal care and advice to mothers and families in the community.
Support mothers with physical recovery, emotional wellbeing, and infant feeding, ensuring holistic, woman-centred care.
Liaise and work collaboratively with other health professionals, ensuring seamless communication and follow-up for families.
Identify and respond appropriately to any safeguarding or mental health concerns, acting in the best interests of both mother and baby.
Promote public health initiatives relevant to postnatal wellbeing, including mental health awareness, nutrition, and early bonding.
Maintain accurate, confidential documentation of all visits and interactions in line with professional standards.
Participate in reflective practice and share insights to help improve the quality and accessibility of postnatal support services.
About the Role
This is a freelance, flexible role within the community, designed to give midwives the freedom to focus on what matters most -- caring for mothers and families.
Midwives will work with families on a sessional basis, providing support that complements existing NHS care.
We are currently expanding our network across London and welcoming expressions of interest from registered midwives who share our commitment to compassionate, personalised care.

Pay: 35.00 per hour
