An exciting opportunity has arisen for registered Midwives to join the Maternity Services of Swansea Bay University Health Board as Band 6 Community Midwife.
The successful applicant must have knowledge and experience of all aspects of Midwifery practice and will be expected to provide supportive care to women throughout all stages of pregnancy.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to provide universal midwifery care during preconception, antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal periods. They will be accountable for the delivery of direct midwifery care within a designated clinical area or caseload.
They will provide high quality, evidenced based care and advice to women throughout antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods in a variety of settings such as community, the woman's home and the Freestanding Midwifery Unit (FMU).
The post holder will practice and maintain clinical skills appropriate for community midwifery practice through experience, and on completion of midwifery skills competencies, as required.
The poster holder is required to participate in the community on call rota.
The post Holder will maintain active NMC registration meeting all revalidation requirements.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
