Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking two dedicated and compassionate Community Band 5 Podiatrist's to join our dynamic team. As part of our Community Podiatry Service, you will play a crucial role in enhancing mobility, reducing pain, and maintaining tissue viability for patients across Oxfordshire.

The Recruitment incentive will be paid in 4 instalments over your first 18 months of employment with Oxford Health Trust and both packages are available to external applicants only. Please note T's & C's apply.

Key Responsibilities:



Assess, diagnose, and manage the primary care of patients with foot health issues.



Provide wound care, toenail surgery, and prescribe orthoses.



Work independently and as part of a team, liaising with other healthcare professionals.



Participate in audits, service development projects, and training of junior staff.



Requirements:



BSc in Podiatry (or equivalent) and HCPC registration.



Experience in assessing and treating complex foot pathologies.



Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.



Ability to work under pressure and manage a caseload effectively.

Assessment and Diagnosis:

Conducting reflective assessments, diagnosing, and treating conditions of the foot, ankle, and related structures to enhance mobility, reduce pain, and maintain tissue viability for patients across Oxfordshire



Primary Care Management:

Managing the ongoing primary care of patients eligible for NHS podiatry, including those with 'at risk' foot health status, toenail pathology, and those requiring wound care and orthoses



Caseload Management:

Independently managing a caseload of patients, ensuring effective communication and liaison with other healthcare professionals, and referring patients for further care as needed



Team Collaboration:

Working within a podiatry team and developing professional links across care pathways, as well as participating in audits and service development projects



Training and Education:

Supporting the training of junior staff, including apprentices and students, and undertaking training and education for a range of healthcare professionals and service users



Clinical Skills Maintenance:

Maintaining high-quality clinical skills and ensuring continuing professional development in line with local and national guidelines



Patient Care:

Providing care in various settings, including patients' homes, and ensuring adherence to departmental, Trust, and HCPC objectives, policies, standards, and guidelines.



These duties ensure that the podiatrist provides high-quality care and contributes to the overall effectiveness of the Community Podiatry Service.
