Community Psychiatric Nurse (cpn) (band 5/6 Development Role)

Aldershot, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

A full-time vacancy has arisen at North East Hampshire Community Mental Health Recovery Service for a Development post for a newly qualified CPN (NMC). The post can lead to a band 6 post within the formal development structure.

The post holders will work within a multi-disciplinary team alongside other Community Psychiatric Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Psychology Assistant and Psychiatrists and community support workers. The post holders will have the opportunity to be a care coordinator holding their own caseload.

The successful candidate will be expected to take part in undertaking assessments, including risk assessments. There is also the opportunity to co-facilitate therapeutic groups. We have care pathways and work with structured clinical management for a recovery focus.

This role requires a high level of commitment, motivation and knowledge of working with people with severe and enduring mental health problems. You will be supported in your role not only through formal supervision and training but also through a strong multidisciplinary and collaborative approach within our team.

We are looking for a good team player. You will have excellent communication and personal skills and can manage your time effectively to meet the needs of your caseload and team.

The candidate must have a full and valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes due to the community element of this role.

You will be required to hold lead and professional responsibility for a number of service users. This reflects a need to demonstrate excellent communication skills and be able to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. You will be committed to the delivery of a high-quality service, working both independently and as part of a well-established, innovative and recovery-focused team in meeting the needs of service users and their carers.

In addition to holding a caseload, the successful applicant will be offering initial assessments to clients referred to the service and be supporting individuals in mental health in the community. There are various training opportunities to build skills in the delivery of low intensity psychological interventions.
