Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Psychiatric Nurse to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients with mental health conditions. This position requires a strong understanding of patient care principles and anatomy, as well as the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support the mental well-being of our patients.

Duties

Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' mental health status and needs. Develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals. Administer medications and monitor patients for side effects or adverse reactions. Provide therapeutic support through individual and group therapy sessions. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting progress and changes in condition. Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies. Participate in case conferences and contribute to the overall treatment strategy for each patient. Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe environment for both patients and staff.

Skills

Strong knowledge of patient care practices, particularly in the field of mental health. Proficient understanding of human anatomy and physiology as it relates to psychiatric nursing. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with patients. Empathy and compassion for individuals experiencing mental health challenges. Ability to work effectively within a team while also demonstrating strong independent decision-making skills. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and patient care processes. Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and patient needs within a dynamic healthcare environment.
