We are looking for a caring, strong person to help support young adults with developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate is someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, staying on-task for long periods of time and paying close attention to details. The candidate must be comfortable working with people who have developmental differences, as well as be able to work as part of a team and communicate effectively. It's also important that our support workers have strong leadership skills and the ability to take initiative.

Responsibilities:

Provide person-centred support to assist people to achieve their desired outcome from support services. Support people to live independently in their own homes or in other settings where they wish to live. Provide assistance to empower people and enable them to meet their personal goals, aspirations, and individual needs. Work in a team environment with a range of support workers and other professionals including social workers and care managers. Report all known incidents of abuse, neglect or exploitation to the appropriate party/agency.(ex. Police, Social Services, etc.). Demonstrate a commitment to reflect on, and improve practice. Be able to maintain a confidential approach. Respect each person as an individual. Use good judgement when supporting people. Be able to work effectively with others. Validate, protect, and promote the human rights of those you support.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.50-13.25 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 42 per week
