We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. This position requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients, particularly those with specific needs such as Autism and Learning disabilities including ADHD.
Duties
As a Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:
Assisting clients with daily living activities, including personal care and hygiene.
Providing companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients.
Administering medication as prescribed and ensuring proper documentation.
Supporting clients with meal preparation and nutritional needs.
Assisting with mobility and heavy lifting when necessary.
Implementing behaviour management strategies for clients with challenging behaviours.
Driving clients to appointments or social activities as required.
Maintaining a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care plans are followed.
Engaging in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance caregiving skills.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
Experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or residential care including inpatient settings.
Care certificate and training in first aid is highly desirable.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families.
A valid driving licence is preferred for transportation duties.
Previous experience in caregiving or home care is advantageous but not essential; we welcome those willing to learn.
