Job Overview


We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to providing high-quality care to individuals in various settings, including group homes, assisted living facilities, and in-home care environments. This role involves assisting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their safety and well-being, and fostering a supportive environment that promotes independence and dignity.

Responsibilities



Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's, dementia, and other health conditions. Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes in condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals. Maintain cleanliness and organization in living spaces to ensure a safe environment. Implement care plans tailored to individual needs and preferences. Administer medication as prescribed and assist with mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary. Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality and privacy.

Experience


Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:

First aid and CPR certification is highly desirable. Previous experience in group homes, nursing homes, or assisted living settings is preferred. Familiarity with patient observation techniques and patient monitoring practices. Experience working with individuals who have autism or other developmental disabilities is a plus. Knowledge of memory care principles and practices related to Alzheimer's care is beneficial. Strong cleaning skills to maintain hygiene standards in client environments. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for patient transfers or mobility assistance. Experience in home health or hospice care settings is an advantage.
