We are looking for a community enabler to work with a young woman experiencing mental health challenges which affect her daily life. The young woman is very kind, and quiet so someone who has a kind and quiet personality would be best suited. There is potential to increase hours, by working with other clients but we are recruiting someone specifically for these hours to ensure continuity.
Hours can be flexible, 9 hours in total over 3 days - Monday to Friday - Starting and finishing each visit in Widecombe on the Moor
Mileage is refunded at 35p per mile.
Duties
Collect from home, and support to access the community, go for long walks and visit shops and places of interest.
Engage in learning opportunities to develop understanding of mental health and how to support someone experiencing challenges.
Facilitate recreational activities and social engagement to encourage community involvement.
Drive to appointments or social events as required, ensuring safety.
Skills
Experience in mental health or enabling is highly desirable.
Strong ability to provide care with empathy and respect for individual needs.
Knowledge of enabling practices and the ability to implement care plans effectively.
Valid driving licence is essential for this role
