We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced person to deliver a Peer Mentoring Learning Programme at our new project in HMP Holme House. You will be able to work with people in custody to equip them with the skills, confidence, and structure to effectively support their peers. This program will develop mentoring capabilities, leadership skills, and personal development through a structured learning framework.
Job Summary:
The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of various programmes of work across the Kinetic portfolio in line with Kinetic policies and procedures.
You will:
Deliver a Peer Mentoring training programme to upskill learners in their peer mentoring roles and enable them to obtain a formal qualification.
Liaise with prison colleagues to arrange for identified learners to attend group or classroom-based training sessions.
Signpost support for prisoners where specific learning difficulties or disabilities and / or other barriers have been identified.
Encourage positive attitudes and behaviours towards education, training and employment.
Develop and facilitate in cell learning/information materials to provide additional support for those learners on programme.
Delivery shall be via a caseload of up to 10 learners. A tracking system shall be initiated by the Supplier to measure the progress and outcomes of learners.
Provide quality activities which meet the individuals current and future needs
provide individuals with every opportunity to gain skills to support them on
provide interactive workshops and activities that can further explore individuals' needs.
Delivery of activities and projects as directed
Delivery of a comprehensive face to face curriculum programme
Effective planning and evaluation of programmes of delivery
Support the Senior Youth Work Coordinator with delivery as directed
Delivery of recorded and accredited outcomes where possible
Punctual and regular time keeping
Communicate effectively with colleagues and partners
Provide timely, accurate and relevant management information as required
Comply with Kinetic policies which support equality, diversity and anti-discriminatory practice
Qualifications
Strong mentoring and leadership abilities
Experience working within an educational or community settings
Proven delivery skills and the ability to engage and motivate others
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to foster a supportive and inclusive environment for peers and mentees
Commitment to community development and empowerment through peer mentoring
