Job Description

Sporting Your Futures is an award winning not-for-profit organisation which aims to create positive change in the community through sport and social activities by being inclusive of all backgrounds in the community. We use sport as a tool to engage inactive communities and facilitate positive change to improve their physical, mental and social wellbeing.



We are looking to recruit several high quality and experienced Male and Female youth workers to deliver our youth and sport zone activity sessions to a range of audiences within the most deprived and disadvantaged communities in Birmingham.



Role Responsibilities



To plan, deliver and evaluate Youth work sessions for children aged between 12-18 in a variety of settings ( community sport initiatives, youth clubs). To create a supportive and open access environment where participants can improve their skills and enjoy their play activities. To be responsible and have a duty of care for the health and safety of participants. Liaise with parents, schools and partners as required to communicate any new information regarding any sessions. Past experience of working with young people within a youth or sport environment is preferable. May be required to work as an integral member of the organisation to support the development of community sports projects. To be able to commit to a minimum of 6 hours a week.

An individual who has a passion for youth work and physical activity. An individual who possesses the ability to inspire and empower young people in a range of settings. An individual who wants to develop and improve themselves using their mentor within the organisation as support. To be responsible and have a duty of care for the health and safety of participants within their care.

Essential qualifications:



Valid driving licence and own transport. Youth Worker or sport Experience Minimum NGB Level 1 in Multi-Sports, Football, youth work or other sports (Applicants with no Multi-Sports/Football qualifications to be considered depending on their experience).

Applicants must be willing to undergo several safeguarding checks, including an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check, reference checks with employers/education and where applicable, Barred List and Prohibition checks.

Relevant training for the role will be given to all successful candidates prior to starting (e.g. First Aid, Safeguarding, food safety).

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 11.00-18.00 per hour

Experience:

Youth Work/Sports coaching: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:

Driving Licence and own transport (preferred) NGB Level 1 Sports or Play work Qualification (preferred)
Work Location: In person
