As a Complex Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate and personalised support to individuals with complex care needs. Your primary responsibility will be to assist clients with their daily lives, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being whether this be in their home or supporting clients at school or in other day-to-day life activities. This position requires a dedicated individual who is committed to enhancing the quality of life for those in your care.
Duties
Assist clients with personal care tasks
Support clients in maintaining their daily routines, helping with meal preparation and feeding when necessary.
Support clients with medication administration and dealing with their complex needs such as diabetes or epilepsy.
Implement and follow care plans tailored to each individual's needs, ensuring that all requirements are met.
Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to provide updates on client progress and any concerns.
Drive/support clients in transport to appointments or social activities as required, ensuring their safe transportation.
Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in client conditions to the appropriate personnel.
Engage clients in social activities and companionship to promote emotional well-being.
Adhere to health and safety regulations while maintaining a clean and organised environment at all times.
Skills
Minimum 1 year prior experience in complex care.
Proficient in developing and following care plans tailored to individual needs.
Experience working with clients with diabetes.
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients and team members.
Basic IT skills for documentation purposes and communication within the team.
A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Flexibility in working hours to accommodate client needs.
