The Role:

Complex Care Support Worker

Hourly Rate:

13.50 per hour

Location:

Huddersfield, West Yorkshire

We currently have 2 vacancies available in Huddersfield.

Each successful applicant will be recruited to work

on one specific package only --

either

Package 1

or

Package 2

(details below).

Shift Pattern:

Days: 7am - 7pm Nights: 7pm - 7am
Please note: We provide 24-hour, around-the-clock care. Shifts will include a mix of days, waking nights, sleeping nights, and alternate weekends.

Contract Type:

Permanent, with immediate start available. We offer the below contract options:

Package 1:

Full-time - 48-hour contract Part-time - 24-hour contract Zero-hour contract available

Package 2:

Full-time - 36-hour contract Part-time - 24-hour contract Zero-hour contract available

DBS:

Preferred

Driver with access to a vehicle:

Preferred

Our team of skilled professionals offers around-the-clock, specialised care for people with spinal cord injuries and other complex needs. We are now looking for like-minded professionals to join us in providing top-quality care that truly makes a difference. It's important to note that we recruit with a person-centred approach, meaning successful candidates will primarily work on one of our packages based in a single location. However, there may be occasional opportunities to work across other packages within the area.

The People in Huddersfield

Package 1:

You will be supporting a lady in her 60s with a complex spinal cord injury. You will work with moving and handling, medication, and cough assistance. Other duties include manual bowel care, personal care, pressure care, and supporting independence. She looks forward to meeting her new carers and can't wait to introduce herself if you successfully progress to the meet-and-greet stage!
This package includes a combination of daytime shifts and sleeping nights.

Package 2:

You will be supporting a gentleman in his 50s with a complex spinal cord injury. You will work with tracheostomies, PEG feeds, catheters, and cough assistance. Other duties include moving and handling, manual bowel care, personal care, pressure care, and administering medication. He looks forward to meeting his new carers and can't wait to introduce himself if you successfully progress to the meet-and-greet stage!

Training

At Josh's Care Company, we are dedicated to equipping you with the skills and knowledge necessary to become compliant in all areas of specialised care -- from tracheostomy and ventilator management to postural and respiratory care, as well as PEG feeding. You will be supported by our skilled and experienced nursing team, who bring a wealth of expertise to ensure you receive the highest standard of training and guidance.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking highly motivated professionals with a caring demeanour, excellent communication skills, and previous care experience. Knowledge of complex care is an advantage. A positive attitude and friendly nature are essential, as you'll be providing meaningful support and encouragement to enhance our clients' quality of life.
