Job Description

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Complex Care Support Worker to provide 1:1 person-centred care and support for a female with a work injury to her leg.
You will work within a comprehensive care plan and help promote independence, dignity and safety at all times.

This role includes personal care, clinical support tasks and social assistance as part of a professional care team.

About the Person You'll Be Supporting

In September 2024, I suffered a serious injury at work that resulted in multiple fractures to my legs and knees, requiring several surgeries, external fixation and the insertion of metal rods and screws. The accident also caused significant psychological trauma and distress. Before the injury, I worked in a factory, was physically fit and enjoyed spending time outdoors, while raising my teenage son. I live with him in a two-bedroom terraced house, along with our cat and his pet rats. I have a close relationship with my parents, who, together with my son, provide me with valuable support. I take pride in my home and like things to be well-organised, though due to ongoing pain and fatigue, I now require substantial support with managing and maintaining my home, meal preparation and daily tasks. Companionship is also important to me, as days can sometimes feel long and isolating. I am passionate about the outdoors and love being able to get out on my mobility scooter, which has allowed me to enjoy nature again. I have also discovered a love for jewellery making and take great satisfaction in creating something beautiful. In my downtime, I enjoy watching TV shows, particularly those with multiple series that I can relax and binge-watch.

Supporting with daily living tasks Monitoring for signs of infection or changes and reporting promptly. Support with transfers if required and post surgery support. Assistance with wheelchair use, especially on inclines or uneven terrain. Support with vehicle access and securing wheelchair for travel. Support with accessing the community.
