You will join the Complex & Illiquid Solutions Structuring Team, within the Fixed Income and Currencies division of the Investment Bank. Working closely with the wider structuring, trading and coverage teams, the role's responsibilities will involve the structuring, execution and settlement of a broad range of transactions undertaken by the Illiquid & Collateralised Exposures (ICE) Trading desk .

The ICE desk is based within the Public Finance Solutions group and specialises in structured transactions, predominantly in the United Kingdom (UK) and Europe, which typically benefit from a government or quasi-government nexus. This includes financing for central and local government supported transactions, the higher and secondary education sectors, healthcare sector, social and affordable housing, as well as certain long-dated highly collateralised transactions, such as ground rents.

Your key responsibilities



Analysing proposed structures for trades that are undertaken by the ICE desk, including by providing legal, accounting and regulatory structuring input into new transactions Drafting and negotiating term sheets, carrying out the review and execution of transaction documentation and due diligence of collateral assets Liaising directly with the Bank's clients to explain key features of particular transactions. Working closely with credit rating agencies, listing authorities, providers of insurance or other forms of credit protection, to reflect specific trade requirements Taking an active role in the approval process for new trades and/or for new product initiatives, as well as engaging in certain broader bank-wide processes, such as complex trade reviews and reputational risk assessments Oversight of the transfer, settlement and lifecycle management of existing trades, and developing new products and transactions to capture market opportunities and to address specific client requirements

Your skills and experience



Educated to bachelor's degree level or equivalent qualification/relevant work experience Experience working in a banking environment, law firm and/or accountancy firm Knowledge of loans and securities issuances, trading and settlement, as well as applicable laws, regulations and guidelines impacting them Preferably experience of transactions with a real estate element, such as long-dated income strips or ground rent transactions Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to prioritise different aspects of workload to meet deadlines
