We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented

Compliance and Sustainability Officer

to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring that our business meets the highest standards of ethical, technical, and environmental compliance, while driving forward our sustainability commitments across a global supply chain.

Key Responsibilities



Partner with customers and licensors to gather and implement compliance and sustainability requirements. Collaborate with in-country compliance teams to ensure supplier and factory adherence. Review and enhance sustainability and compliance processes, drafting and updating procedures where required. Support audit preparations: conduct pre-audits, participate in audits, manage corrective action plans, and liaise with third-party audit bodies. Monitor supply base performance through proactive management of the audit programme, driving continuous improvement. Conduct investigations into potential compliance issues and recommend solutions. Manage internal and external sustainability and compliance communications, including with customers and licensors. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry sustainability and compliance standards through ongoing research and training. Support traceability and validation of compliance and sustainability documentation. Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with customers, licensors, and internal stakeholders.

Requirements



Proven experience with ethical audit programmes such as SMETA, BSCI, SLCP. Knowledge of technical audit requirements within the garment industry. Experience with sustainability and environmental programmes such as GOTS, GRS, RCS, OCS, BCSS, Higg Index. Familiarity with environmental disclosure platforms (advantageous). Experience with product lifecycle management systems (advantageous). Strong understanding of sourcing and selling market country laws and regulations, or ability to research and adapt as needed. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with professional language use.
