Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Compliance Assistant to support our Agriculture and Landed Estates team's daily operations. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills, the ability to multitask, and a willingness to work flexibly. This role involves assisting solicitors, paralegals, and other staff by providing compliance related administrative support.



There will be a particular focus on supporting the anti-money laundering (AML) efforts of our team, as well as assisting with the administration of specific charitable trusts.



Key Responsibilities:



Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Monitoring:



Help manage AML procedures by collecting, reviewing, and maintaining client identification documents, ensuring they meet "Know Your Customer" (KYC) requirements.



Audits and Reviews:



Provide administrative support during internal and external audits by ensuring documentation is accessible and accurate.



Client Due Diligence (CDD):



Support the compliance team in conducting thorough due diligence on new and existing clients, including background checks and risk assessments



Compliance Support:



Assist the compliance team with the execution and monitoring of the firm's compliance program, ensuring adherence to internal policies and external regulations.



Data Entry:



Input and maintain accurate data in the firm's legal case management system, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with legal standards.



Document Management:



Organise, update and maintain legal documents, case files, and correspondence, ensuring that records are up-to-date and easily accessible.



Filing and Recordkeeping:



Maintain up-to-date compliance and AML records in line with regulatory requirements, ensuring confidentiality and data protection.



Reporting:



Assist with preparing reports for senior management, regulatory bodies, or auditors on compliance and AML activities, including suspicious activity reports (SARs).



AML related Research Assistance:



Conduct basic research or assist in gathering information relevant to cases as requested by attorneys.



Regulatory Updates:



Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations affecting AML and compliance policies and assist with implementing new procedures.



Qualifications:



Education:



High school diploma or equivalent required; an Associate's degree in Business, Legal Studies, or Compliance-related fields is a plus.



Experience:



1-2 years of experience in an administrative role, preferably within a legal environment.



Skills:



Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and legal case management software.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

High attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Excellent organisational skills with a strong attention to detail.

Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.



Working Conditions:



Full-time position; Monday to Friday.

Remote and hybrid working considered following initial training.



Salary:



Commensurate with experience.
