  • The contract offered is permanent and full time - 37 hours per week.
  • Successful candidate will need to be flexible on start times, as this post will be required to work from all operational depots depending on service requirements.
  • Potential HGV driver training for the right candidate.
What will I be doing?
We're working to improve the lives of people in Somerset - and you'll be a key part of that.
The Fleet team support over 30 different service areas that provide statutory services to the residents of Somerset. It is essential that Fleet provide an efficient and cost effective service to enable the service's we support to deliver to the residents of Somerset.
Your day-to-day work will involve:
  • Carrying out driver assessments.
  • Carrying out gate checks at various operational depots.
  • Conducting audits across multiple service areas and external contractors
  • Undertaking vehicle incident/collision investigations.
  • Providing accurate and up to date information to a variety of service areas relating to transport legislation.
  • Overseeing of fleet software systems, including Telematics, Licence checking and Tachograph analysis.
  • General fleet compliance administrative tasks.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?
We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be. However it will be really helpful if you have the following:
  • Full UK Cat C driving licence.
  • Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph.
  • IOSH/NEBOSH.
  • Great communication skills.
  • Proficiency using basic IT.

Anything else I should know?
The Salary for the Compliance Audit and Training Officer (otherwise known as a Fleet Compliance Officer) is Grade 12, ranging from 28,598 to 32,061 per annum for 37 hours per week.
