We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Compliance Officer to oversee and ensure adherence to regulatory standards and internal policies within our organisation. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with primary focus on Awaab's Law and Housing Health & Safety Rating System. Job Purpose:
Manage designated compliance work streams day-to-day to ensure that the contracts run smoothly, remedial work is issued and delivered on time with a focus on Awaab's Law, Housing Health & Safety Rating System referrals and follow-ups as Awaab's Law gets rolled out.
Coordinate the activity of the damp and mould response team (in-house and external contractors) working closely with the Reactive Repairs and Voids Manager.
Provide proactive tracking and case management of Awaab's Law referrals with a particular focus on damp and mould cases, ensuring regular, proactive communication with residents to ensure compliance with the law.
Act as custodian of designated compliance date to ensure the data is accurate, complete and reconciled regularly.
Provide validated statistical information regarding performance in key compliance areas to evidence compliance and help manage associated risks.
Undertake regular reconciliations and tests of data quality to ensure risks to compliance data integrity are effectively managed.
Provide cover as required for all other compliance work streams (eg. electrical, water, asbestos, gas, lifts, fire).
Key Responsibilities :
Coordinate and oversee the delivery of compliance tasks day-to-day liaising closely with third party contractors and in-house colleagues delivering compliance-related services with a principal focus on Damp and Mould cases and HHSRS fails.
Support the Reactive Repairs and Voids Manager to plan the work of the in-house Damp and Mould response team.
Day to day management of the compliance database and the damp and mould case management module, ensuring asset data and the asset register are up-to-date and complete for allocated compliance work streams, including component details, service target/completion dates and certifications.
Escalate key areas of non-compliance to the Operations Manager (Reactive Repairs) and Head of Asset and Compliance in a timely and informed manner including any recommendations.
In conjunction with the Head of Asset and Compliance, undertake regular contract reviews and performance reviews highlighting areas of improvement needed.
Liaise with contractors day-to-day to ensure visits are carried out at appropriate times to ensure compliance and repairs standards are always maintained.
Ensure access protocols and procedures are followed in line with policy, liaising and instructing Housing and other colleagues as appropriate to secure timely access to complete compliance checks and remedial works.
Keep and maintain records/logs of outstanding actions to be completed.
Collate, monitor and control documentation on the Association's servicing/safety programmes.
Liaise with residents to ensure a proactive and seamless service experience managing the system prompts and trackers on a day-to-day basis.
Provide cover for the other Compliance Coordinator roles, as and when required, updating asset components, Fire Risk Assessments and remedial actions on the Homemaster database, checking and storing certifications, and liaising with compliance contractors to ensure issues are followed up promptly, escalating to the Head of Asset and Compliance where necessary.
Raise orders to contractors on the Housing Management System, adhering to the Association's Financial Regulations.
Process orders and invoices within financial authorities, matching received invoices with raised orders and managing variations.

Carry out additional responsibilities reasonably associated with the post title and post holder's capabilities, as and when required by the Association.
Are you the right candidate?
It is essential you have:
A good level of education
Working knowledge of landlord compliance and risk management, understanding the importance of compliance and legal responsibilities relating to Awaab's Law
Ability to manage contracts/contractors effectively day-to-day.
Excellent IT and data analysis/processing skills, able to use Excel and reconcile/validate data.
Close attention to detail
Good communication externally with contractors and residents, and internally with colleagues.
Demonstrate curiosity and effective questioning skills
Evidence-based ability to challenge assumptions/anomalies in data and processes

Basic salary: 32,983 p.a., plus other benefits circa 36,391 p.a.
