Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Compliance Manager to oversee and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies within our organisation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of compliance frameworks and demonstrate exceptional analytical skills. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity of our operations and fostering a culture of compliance across all departments.

DUTIES



Support project teams, including those based at site, to comply with the full requirements of the Integrated Management System (IMS) and any additional client specifications within the scope of the Compliance Department. Support the effective operation of the IMS on a day-to-day basis (which includes supervision of the Trainee Advisor role). Ensure the company meets all accreditation requirements as requested by the Managing Director and/or Shareholders. Assist the Head of Compliance in managing the governance and risk processes across the relevant areas of business operations. Advise on the relevant areas of legal and statutory reporting e.g. health, safety and environmental legislation, and liaise with other legal professionals on matters such as contracts and company law to ensure effective risk management. Contribute to the Compliance reports that are provided to the Directors, Managing Director and Shareholders detailing all elements of performance within the scope of the role. To carry out investigations required across the business. To audit and evidence company practices, delivering continuous improvement across the compliance functions. Act as a champion of compliance, reinforce health, safety and welfare at all times and support colleagues across the business to meet the standards expected. To represent the company in a positive and professional way at all times. To uphold all the values of the company at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE



General



A track record of supervising/managing safety professionals and assisting their professional development.

Some experience of supporting and advising Board and senior management on audit, risk and governance matters gained within a regulated environment.

(E)

Good understanding of governance systems and structures including auditing, risk management and investigations in the construction industry or similar.

(E)

Proven experience in the design and delivery of quality management systems and third-party accreditations.

(E)

Accredited by a recognised industry body e.g. CertIOSH/MCIEH with full CPD records.

(D)

Lead Auditor qualifications relevant to 9001, 14001 and/or 45001 standards.

Health and Safety Role:



Experience of working with or assessing construction methods/safe systems of work e.g. mechanical, electrical and public health systems.

Experience and understanding of complex investigations, including working with government agencies e.g. the Health and Safety Executive.

(E)

Level 5 or above qualification/certification in health and safety field e.g. construction/fire safety.

(E)

Track record of delivering on-site training to construction project teams.

Building Safety and Environment Role:



Experience and understanding of writing complex construction phase plans, contract quality plans and building safety documents, including the preparation of tenders.

Level 5 or above qualification in building safety/fire safety or environmental management e.g. Diploma in Fire Engineering Design/Building Safety Management/ESG and Risk Management.

Experience of evaluating and implementing project planning documents for the purposes of meeting BREEAM and/or environmental management plans, including impact assessments.

Track record of delivering on-site training to construction project teams.

KNOWLEDGE



Solid understanding of relevant regulations, compliance monitoring and reporting systems.

Strong understanding of governance and compliance issues within a complex organisation.

(E)

An up to date understanding of regulatory requirements in the construction industry.

(E)

Comprehensive understanding of how to deliver effective training to a range of audiences.

(E)

Detailed understanding of the requirements of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001.

Understanding of how to implement sustainability strategies in small to medium sized businesses.

(D)

Understanding of how to implement workforce planning e.g. skills and competency matrices across multiple professions and how to shape recruitment policy in conjunction with human resources professionals.

Awareness of GDPR and data security requirements and how to design and implement relevant policy/procedures.

Pay: 50,000.00-60,000.00 per year
