A new position has become available within Santander Corporate and Investment Banking (SCIB). If you are interested in growing your career in SCIB then this will be the perfect position for you.

As the Compliance Monitoring Manager \xe2\x80\x93 VP you will take responsibility for the delivery of reviews allocated under the SCIB Compliance Monitoring & Testing programme, as well as acting as SME and supervisor for other team members as directed by the SCIB Head of Compliance Monitoring & Testing, including delivery at the checkpoints identified by the SCIB Head of Compliance Monitoring & Testing.

You will part of a global team responsible to conduct business reviews, as part of your role you will also work with group subsidiaries, to champion global harmonisation of standards and to monitor risks holistically across SCIB.

This role is instrumental to the improvement of risk management within SCIB Compliance.

The difference you\xe2\x80\x99ll make:

Conducting business reviews, applying a risk-based approach for assessment of controls and processes

Preparing draft, agreeing review findings and Corrective Action Plans with stakeholders, and publishing final reports in the agreed format

Providing support for the plan for Compliance Monitoring capability modernisation (e.g. data analytics/data interrogation) at direction of SCIB Head of Monitoring & Testing

Providing support for building a global monitoring and testing capability oversight framework at direction of Head of SCIB Monitoring & Testing

Coaching and mentoring junior staff as directed by the Head of SCIB Monitoring & Testing

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll bring:

Prior experience in Audit or Compliance function preferably within Corporate and Investment Banking, as well as excellent knowledge of the financial regulations applicable to wholesale banking

Strong experience in risk identification and mitigation, as well as assessment of processes and controls

It would also be nice for you to have:

Knowledge of Data Analytics and data interrogation techniques

Strong influencing and collaborative working skills

Highly developed written and oral communication skills

Spanish language is desirable, but not essential for this role

30 days\xe2\x80\x99 holiday plus bank holidays, which increases to 31 days after 5yrs service, with the option to purchase up to 5 contractual days per year
