We are expanding the Private Rented Sector Property Licensing Service and are looking for committed, enthusiastic and organised individuals like you, who can provide a best-in-class service in this new arena. The service is to be the largest in the country, fitting for the second City and largest metropolitan Local Authority.

Our Private Rented Sector Licensing Service will receive and process applications from private rented sector landlords, ensure compliance and take enforcement action for unlicensed privately rented premises in Birmingham.


You will undertake inspections, investigations and enforce relevant statutory provisions aimed at protecting and improving homes and neighbourhoods across the city.


As our Compliance Officer, you will have either a good level of education or experience within the discipline. You will have excellent communication skills and be committed to personal development. Commitment, enthusiasm, and flexibility to work in a busy environment are key to the role. Ideally, you will also have knowledge of housing legislation, experience in enforcement and the ability to use a range of IT packages.
