We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Compliance Officer to join our team.
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our organisation adheres to all regulatory requirements and internal policies.
This position involves overseeing compliance management including keeping company policies and procedures up to date, implementation of new policies and procedures where required, conducting internal audits, preparing for external audits and preparing regulatory reporting.
The Compliance Officer will work closely with various departments and external bodies to foster a culture of compliance and mitigate risks associated with non-compliance.
Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements.
Conduct regular internal audits/site audits to assess compliance with established policies and regulations.
Preparing for and overseeing external audits.
Ensure company certification and pre qualification information is kept up to date
Prepare and submit accurate regulatory reports to relevant authorities in a timely manner.
Monitor changes in legislation and assess their impact on the organisation's operations, implement new policies and procedures as required.
Conduct Induction Training for new starts.
Identify staff training needs, arrange external training courses.
Provide training and guidance to staff on compliance matters, ensuring awareness of obligations and best practices.
Collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance is integrated and monitored throughout all business processes.
Investigate compliance breaches or concerns and recommend corrective actions as necessary and ensure implementation.
Maintain comprehensive records of compliance activities such as pre comms, RAMS, tool box talks, audits, and training sessions.
Qualifications
Proven experience in compliance, preferably within the construction sector.
Strong understanding of regulatory reporting requirements and internal / external audit processes.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex information effectively.
Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills - this is a complex role requiring working to tight deadlines.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
This is a full time, permanent position.
