Job Description

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES OF THE ROLE



To support the Head of Compliance and Legal and Regulatory Manager in implementing and administering the firm's compliance framework, ensuring full adherence to FCA regulations and the effective oversight of conduct, governance, and regulatory reporting activities. The role combines compliance monitoring, advisory support, and coordination of regulatory submissions, with a particular focus on Consumer Duty and the delivery of good customer outcomes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



Compliance Monitoring and Oversight



Conduct compliance monitoring activities in accordance with the Compliance Monitoring Plan, including thematic reviews, file reviews, and desk-based assessments. Perform regular monitoring of customer outcomes, complaints data to identify potential risks or areas requiring remedial action. Support the delivery of Consumer Duty requirements, ensuring the firm can evidence fair value, customer understanding, and customer support. Undertake reviews of social media, websites, and online customer feedback platforms to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and fair presentation. Escalate findings, breaches, or areas of concern to the Head of Compliance, ensuring appropriate action plans are developed and tracked to completion.

Regulatory Reporting and Governance



Support the completion and submission of FCA regulatory returns via RegData, ensuring all submissions are accurate, timely, and fully auditable. Maintain the firm's regulatory reporting calendar and ensure alignment with FCA deadlines. Assist in producing compliance MI for Board and internal committee reporting, highlighting trends, emerging risks, and key compliance metrics. Support the Legal and Regulatory Manager in responses to regulatory requests and thematic reviews. Maintain appropriate documentation, records, and audit trails relating to all compliance and reporting activity.

Advisory and Cross-Functional Support



Provide compliance guidance and support to business units, helping to interpret and apply FCA rules and principles in a practical manner. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure that business processes reflect current regulatory requirements and expectations. Assist in horizon scanning and regulatory change impact assessments, contributing to the firm's proactive compliance posture. Promote and support a strong culture of compliance across the business through engagement, training, and communication.

Other Duties



Carry out ad-hoc tasks and projects as directed by the Head of Compliance or senior management. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of FCA requirements, including SMCR, DISP, CONC, and Consumer Duty. Ensure all activities under your control comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies. Adhere to the FCA Conduct Rules at all times.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE



Understanding of FCA regulatory framework, including systems and controls, SMCR, DISP, CONC, and Consumer Duty. Previous experience in a compliance, regulatory reporting, or risk management role is desirable. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret MI and identify patterns, risks, or anomalies. Sound judgment and attention to detail in all aspects of compliance work. Good IT literacy, including use of Microsoft Office, compliance systems, and MI dashboards.
Salary for the role is dependent on experience.
