Job Description

MSC Accident Repair Centre are seeking a proactive Safety Compliance Officer to support our organisation on a short-term basis, with a strong focus on

fire safety compliance

. The role will ensure that our sites meet all statutory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies relating to fire prevention, preparedness, and response.

Key Responsibilities



Conduct fire safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments across the premises. Review and update fire safety policies, procedures, and documentation. Ensure fire safety measures (alarms, extinguishers, signage, emergency lighting, evacuation routes) are in place, tested, and compliant. Provide training, toolbox talks, and briefings to staff on fire safety awareness and emergency procedures. Liaise with external regulators, contractors, and internal teams to address compliance requirements. Report findings, recommend corrective actions, and monitor implementation. Support the wider Health & Safety function as required during the contract.

Skills & Experience



NEBOSH Fire Certificate (or equivalent) preferred. Strong knowledge of UK fire safety legislation, including the

Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005

. Experience conducting fire risk assessments and audits. Confident communicator with the ability to influence and engage staff at all levels. Self-motivated, organised, and able to deliver results within tight timescales.

Duration:

8 weeks (with potential for extension and broader scope)

Hours:

Full Time 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday

Rate:

42000pa (pro rata)

Holiday:

23 days (pro rata)

Pay: 42,000.00 per year
