About the Role:
An excellent opportunity to join a growing Compliance Function as a Compliance Specialist working closely with the Compliance Team based in London. The successful candidate will have in depth knowledge of the UK regulatory regime (i.e. FCA, PRA) with experience working in the Lloyd's market environment.
The successful candidate will have compliance experience in a Lloyd's Managing Agent and/or London Market Insurer.
This position will be based in our London office with a hybrid schedule of working two days remote each week.
Role & Responsibilities (include but not limited to):Providing expertise and key insights to the wider business using your knowledge of the UK regulatory environment (i.e. FCA, PRA, Lloyd's, Lloyd's Europe).
Attending and contribute to Lloyd's, IUA and LMA market committees and forums as required to ensure the Company keeps abreast of regulatory movements.
Preparing Compliance reports for various committees and groups, such as the Product Oversight Group and Contract Oversight Committee.
Establishing relationships with all business units and attend meetings as required.
Maintaining and assisting in the delivery of the Annual Compliance Plan to ensure all compliance related activities have been completed on time.
Developing Compliance policies, procedures, and frameworks ensuring they continue to be aligned with the nature, scale, complexity of the business.
Maintaining the regulatory timetable and collaborating with the business to ensure the production of timely regulatory returns.
Maintaining and developing knowledge of relevant regulatory regimes, Lloyd's/London insurance market and Lloyd's Europe.
Preparing regulatory submissions such as the Eligible Complainant Return, Retail Mediation Activities Return (RMAR), Conduct Rules Breach Return, FSCS Fees & Levies, General Insurance Value Measures Return, etc.
Providing challenge and feedback to the wider business using in depth knowledge and expertise of the UK regulatory expectations.
Assisting with the interpretation and implementation of new or amended regulation, legislation or codes of conduct with impacted business teams.
Supporting the Compliance Function in testing compliance of the company with applicable laws and regulations through completion of assurance monitoring reviews and other second line processes, in line with the annual compliance function plan.
Collaborate with a variety of business areas and stakeholders with a view to embedding a robust risk and compliance culture.
Ability to proficiently manage and report on complaints in line with UK regulatory obligations and Lloyd's rules.
Qualifications:A comprehensive understanding of the regulatory requirements applying to a General Insurer operating in the UK (i.e. FCA, PRA, Lloyd's and Lloyd's Europe).
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:Strong understanding of the regulatory framework required for UK Insurance firms.
Proven experience operating in a second line function in a London Market Insurer, Managing Agent or Managing General Agent with a good understanding of the UK regulatory framework.
Compliance experience in a Lloyd's Managing Agent with maturity ranking of "Established" under the Lloyd's Principles would be desirable.
The successful candidate will have experience within a similar second line compliance role.
Ability to organise and prioritise workloads appropriately, with good attention to detail, and show determination and flexibility to deliver to challenging deadlines.
Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels, up to and including Senior Executives, and build effective working relationships across the business.
Cross-functional teamwork and collaboration skills are integral to the position.
