Composite Technician

We are looking for a composites technician to join our small team. Experience preferred, but not essential and on the site job training will be provided. Experience in a related trade such as boat building, automotive finishing or other fine finishing desired.

We manufacture bespoke carbon fibre and other composite components to a very high standard of finish primarily for the Superyacht industry. The job will involve assisting in laying up parts using wet layup, infusion and pre preg methods. Trimming and assembly of components . The ideal candidate will have a good eye for detail, a high level of motivation and be able to work in a clean, tidy and organised manner.

Duties:
- Assemble composite parts and components using hand tools and power tools
- Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Cut, trim, and shape composite materials to required specifications
- Apply adhesives, resins, and other bonding agents to composite materials
- Operate machinery and equipment to fabricate composite parts
- Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to specifications
- Perform repairs and modifications on composite parts as needed

Requirements:
- Previous experience working with composites or in a similar manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments
- Basic mechanical knowledge and understanding of assembly processes
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work orders
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team

Pay is hourly with a standard 38.5 hour week. The opportunity for overtime often available. Pay dependent upon skills and experience.
