Composite/ Paint Blade Technician



This job description gives an overall indication of the areas of responsibility of the position but is by no means all-encompassing or fixed. The post may include other duties and responsibilities as determined by management that fall within the general responsibilities of the post.

Responsible To



The post holder is directly responsible to and managed by the Maintenance Manager.

Overall Purpose of the Job



The post holder's primary purpose is to provide support by implementing repairs to composite and fibre-glass propeller blades, as well as paint activities.

Main Duties and Responsibilities



Hands-on activities within the MRO workshop, in accordance with company procedures and OEM manuals will include:

Carry out composite propeller blade repairs.

Installation of metallic compound leading edges

Carry out on-aircraft repairs, may include foreign travel.

Carry out fibre glass and carbon working practices.

Painting processes during repair / overhaul

Carry out blade machining and blade balancing operations.

Masking, preparation and painting of blades and components

Clean products

Inspect all relevant components and identify items for scrap, rework or refit with reference to and

interpretation of relevant product information and OEM manuals

Review and embody service information.

To have a general understanding of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH)

The ability to work effectively within a small team with minimum supervision.

The ability to be responsible for their own work.

To have a strong work ethic and pride in their work

To carry out any other reasonable task required by management.

Person specification



The Technician should ideally have previous experience of working within an engineering/hand-crafting role like carpentry. We are looking for a person with good hand skills with a high level of dexterity and attention to detail.

Aviation industry experience is highly desirable; as is, composite/fibreglass and paint experience.

Full consideration would be given to training a 'Trainee Technician'; given the right candidate.

Qualifications



The Technician should be computer literate (Word, Excel, Microsoft Office).

To have a reasonable fitness level and well-being (due to some heavy lifting as and when required)

Salary:



Dependent upon experience

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From 31,000.00 per year
