Salary: \xc2\xa338,000 - \xc2\xa346,000

The Role?

As a key member of our team, you will be at the forefront of the design and analysis of hydrodynamics experiments and in the development and evaluation of radiographic imaging facilities and technologies. Collaborating closely with our team of radiographers and image analysts, your expertise in computational science and software development will be essential in maintaining and enhancing radiographic modelling and analysis software. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the creation of new capabilities in this field.

Our current software package is written in C/C++/Smalltalk and provides a physics-based radiographic modelling and analysis capability. This role will support the development of a successor, using Python and C++. By harnessing Python\xe2\x80\x99s vast array of libraries in scientific computing, image processing, and machine learning, we aim to push the boundaries of what is possible in radiographic analysis.

To achieve this, we are actively seeking talented individuals like yourself to join our team and contribute to this exciting development.

Whilst not to be considered a checklist, the ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate the following;
  • A strong background in software development and computational science, possessing expertise in C/C++ and Python programming languages preferred
  • A solid understanding of physics and mathematics is highly desirable, as it will enable you to tackle the complex challenges involved in our work
  • A familiarity with object-oriented design would also be beneficial in this role
  • Technical qualifications to Degree level (minimum 2.1) or equivalent in Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science
