Requirements

Essential

Working from our Dundee office. 3+ years of professional experience working in games development in Unity. Experience using C# and the Unity API. Experience working in a team environment. Experience with cross-platform development. Experience using Git, or another source code management system. Experience meeting project deadlines and targets regarding tasks and deliverables. Experience communicating project requirements both verbally and through written documentation.

Desirable

Experience using other languages like C++, Java, Python. Experience shipping/releasing a title. Experience developing for console platforms. Experience with project optimization techniques. Experience participating in code reviews. Experience using task management software such as Jira.

Skills and Abilities

Robust software engineering and software architecture principles. Strong debugging skills with the ability to work in an existing codebase. Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritise your own workload and meet deadlines. Highly motivated and productive, a self-starter. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with fluency in English. Strong skills in close teamwork within the studio. A creative and logical approach to problem-solving with an end-user focus. Meticulous attention to detail. A clear, concise and accurate communicator in all formats. Adapts well to new processes and pipelines

Duties and Tasks

Working in the Unity engine on a daily basis, using C# to create core game systems and mechanics. Communicating and working within the team to identify the most efficient way of completing your tasks. Creating code to meet project and platform requirements. Writing performant code within the requirements of the target system. Taking part in standups and team meetings for communication of project goals. Managing the burndown of your tasks, using Jira and working with a Senior Programmer to prioritise work.
