Role Information




As our academy continues to grow we are keen to recruit a technician who will support tutors on a day to day basis by ensuring they have the time to complete learner preparation, learner monitoring, planning and lesson planning. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has a background in construction / trades role and looking to move in to the world of education. As you progress with us you will have the opportunity to take on more responsibility and even stand in for our tutors in their absence.



DUTIES


Carry out learner inductions and associated processes Support a timetable of learning as agreed with the Centre Manager Work in collaboration with team members and the Centre Manager that meets LCG and external expectations Ensure ILPS are completed appropriate to individual learner requirements, paperwork and reviews are contributed towards Complete registers and documentation to the required standards of the contract and ensure that these are communicated to colleagues within their required deadlines Facilitate workshop sessions when required Ensure that support systems are provided to facilitate positive retention, achievement and progression Centre maintenance Ordering of stock and resources Contribute where appropriate to learner disciplinary action requirements Maintain a log of the equipment used by the learners in the centre and take appropriate measures to prevent the loss of equipment through theft Attend standardisation and team meetings at the designated centres Work as part of a team Promote and ensure safe working practices in line with current Health and Safety legislation, including health and safety department inspections and risk assessments Undertake appropriate learning and development activities as required for the job role and maintain a record of all CPD Ensure the work area is clean and safe for all the staff and learners on a daily and ongoing basis Work with learners on an individual or small group structure Excellent communication skills Deliver company core values and vision and be an ambassador for LCG Any other requirement which may be asked of from time to time Provide learners, customers and colleagues with support, advice guidance as part of your everyday role Conduct your role in line with the company values and expected behaviours Promote equal opportunities and recognition of diversity throughout the company Comply with the Safeguarding, Prevent and Health and Safety Policies and be vigilant to potential concerns and risks at all times Ensure confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Educated to Level 2 or above in Mathematics & English Vocational experience in construction Drive and enthusiastic to support learners Passionate about transforming people's lives through learning Self-reliant and able to manage own workload Good organisational and planning skills Ability to work effectively as a member of a team Driving License with access to own car would be an advantage
