Our Client is seeking an experienced Contract Manager to join our Steeplejack Division and strengthen our project management capabilities. As a Contract Manager, you will oversee the full lifecycle of specialist construction contracts, managing teams of directly employed NVQ-qualified workforce across nationwide projects. Your role is to deliver exceptional customer service while ensuring budgeted profit margins are achieved and exceeded. You will be responsible for coordinating complex steeplejack, specialist access, lightning protection, electrical earthing, structural maintenance, and waterproofing operations, liaising with clients, managing resources, and maintaining the highest standards of health and safety throughout all project phases.

Key Responsibilities:



Manage labour teams, handle personnel issues, oversee recruitment and training of site staff Manage plant and stock inventory to ensure efficient project delivery Develop and maintain efficient project programming and scheduling Oversee all health and safety compliance and conduct site safety audits Monitor and control project costs to achieve budgeted profit margins Conduct regular site visits and perform safety inspections Prepare accurate estimates and quotations for new opportunities Lead site and technical meetings with stakeholders and clients Attend pre-order meetings to clarify project requirements and specifications Provide technical guidance and innovative solutions to customers Identify and pursue new business opportunities for pricing and contract development Achieve or exceed all budgeted profit margins on assigned contracts

Candidate Profile


We are looking for candidates who bring proven project management expertise combined with hands-on experience in specialist access, rope work, or structural repair operations at height. You should be a disciplined, well-organised professional with a methodical approach to work, strong IT capabilities, and current health and safety certification. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership qualities, the ability to manage diverse teams, and a commitment to delivering excellence in customer service and operational efficiency.

Experience & Expertise Required:



Proven experience in the steeplejack industry, or equivalent background in rope access, specialist access work, or structural repair operations at height Demonstrated project management experience with the ability to manage multiple contracts and teams simultaneously Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in construction and at-height operations Proficiency with modern IT systems and project management software Current relevant health and safety certification (NEBOSH or equivalent) Experience managing NVQ-qualified workforce and site-based teams Estimating and cost control experience within construction or specialist contracting

Pay: 49,000.00-50,000.00 per year
