Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards. Duties

Analyse project plans, specifications, and drawings to determine scope of work and required resources Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor services Collaborate with project managers and clients to understand project requirements and constraints Conduct market research to obtain current pricing on materials and labour rates Assist in negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favourable terms Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budgets Implement effective cost control measures and identify potential areas for savings or efficiencies Compile comprehensive bid proposals and present estimates to stakeholders Maintain organised records of all estimating activities for future reference and audits

Experience

Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or similar role within the construction industry Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and industry standards Demonstrable expertise in cost control techniques and budget management Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation Proficiency in estimating software programmes and Microsoft Office Suite Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contractual documents Effective communication skills for liaising with clients, suppliers, and internal teams
