Role Purpose



To assist in the preparation, construction build process, and clean-up of fire resistance tests within our construction and testing unit. Supporting the construction team and technicians in building supporting constructions whilst maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient laboratory environment. This role is essential in ensuring the timely and accurate completion of fire testing construction in accordance with relevant standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities



Assist with the handling, cutting, lifting, and installation of construction materials and test specimens. Perform general construction duties and support practical construction tasks, including bricklaying and drylining Prepare test frames and specimens under the guidance of the construction team personnel, including the use of hand and power tools. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of laboratory spaces, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Transport materials and equipment within the lab or workshop as required. Perform routine maintenance of tools, equipment, and Mechanical handling devices. Accurately record materials usage, waste generated and assist with documentation under supervision. Assist in loading and unloading deliveries, storing materials in appropriate locations. Provide general support to technicians and engineers during testing procedures. Complete induction and permit to work process for all installation contractors to support health and safety processes. Liaise with onsite contractors during external sample builds Comply with all health and safety, fire, and emergency protocols, including the reporting of near-miss incidents Maintain accurate records within the company systems, including Synergist and OneDrive

Essential



Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C/4 or above, including Math and English Prior experience working on construction sites Proficiency in Microsoft Office software Demonstrated hands-on or technical aptitude Trade background i.e. bricklaying/groundworks/civils Ability to read technical drawings The ability to perform physical tasks (lifting and carrying). Ability to operate and adapt workflow to suit rapidly changing needs.

Desirable



A-levels or a degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field Previous experience of construction/labourer role Green CSCS card or CCNSG Site Safety passport Forklift/counterbalance preferred.

Pay: From 24,000.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
