Construction Logistics Operative - Aviation Projects



Role Overview:



As a Guardior Construction Logistics Operative, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of our construction logistics team. We are seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Construction Logistics Operative to join our team supporting major aviation projects at Heathrow Airport. You will play a vital role in the day-to-day logistics operations, ensuring the efficient movement of materials, equipment, and personnel across the site, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, security, and compliance with airport regulations.

Key Responsibilities:



1. Construction Logistics Operations:



Execute logistics activities, including waste management, delivery management, fire marshal duties, and other general logistics tasks. Support the unloading, checking, and safe storage of materials and equipment. Coordinate and escort delivery vehicles through secure airport zones. Maintain clear and safe walkways, roads, and access routes. Operate plant and equipment (e.g., forklifts, telehandlers) in line with training and procedures. Assist with traffic and pedestrian management as required. Utilise your experience in construction logistics operations to contribute to the overall efficiency of the logistics team.

2. Safety and Compliance:



Strictly follow Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) to ensure safe working practices. Adhere to Heathrow and contractor safety, health, and environmental standards. Attend all Toolbox Talk (TBT) briefings and adopt a proactive approach to safety. Report any incidents, accidents, near misses, or hazards promptly to the Logistics Supervisor.

3. Communication and Team Collaboration:



Communicate effectively with team members, contractors, site management, and airport operations and follow instructions from the Logistics Supervisor Collaborate with team members to ensure the seamless execution of logistics activities.

4. Adherence to Procedures:



Strictly adhere to established procedures and guidelines in all logistics operations. Maintain a keen awareness of safety and security protocols during daily activities.

5. Reporting:



Report any incidents, accidents, or near misses to the Logistics Supervisor promptly. Maintain accurate records and comply with delivery documentation procedures. Assist in the documentation and reporting of logistics activities as required.

Requirements:



Proven experience in construction logistics operations. Holds an associated CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) Card. A good understanding of waste management, delivery management, and general logistics activities on construction sites. Ability to work within a high-security environment, including airside if required. Good knowledge of health and safety regulations and commitment to safe work methodologies. Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player with excellent communication skills. Able to work under pressure, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain a high standard of work. Hold a valid UK manual Driving Licence with a maximum of 6 points

Desirable:



Previous experience working at a UK airport First Aid and Fire Marshal certification (Training can be provided)

Additional Requirements:



Must be able to pass a 5-year background check via reference checks to obtain a Heathrow airside pass DBS Clear Must be eligible to work in the UK Willing to undergo drug and alcohol screening Flexibility with shifts, including nights and weekends, as required by project schedules

Pay: 15.00-20.93 per hour
