We are currently seeking an experienced
Construction Manager
to join our team on the
Queen Elizabeth Hospital project
in Birmingham. This is a high-profile, technically demanding scheme within a live hospital environment, where excellence in safety, planning, and stakeholder management is essential. The project directly supports one of the UK's largest and most advanced teaching hospitals, making this a unique opportunity to contribute to infrastructure that underpins frontline healthcare delivery.
What you'll be doing
As a
Construction Manager
you will:
Lead and manage site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers
Plan, coordinate, and sequence construction activities to meet programme milestones
Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, particularly within a live hospital environment
Maintain high standards of quality assurance and control
Coordinate with design, commercial, and client teams to resolve technical and delivery challenges
Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation measures
Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders, including the client and hospital representatives.
Who we're looking for
You will have the following:
Proven experience as a Construction Manager on large-scale construction projects, ideally within healthcare or complex live environments
Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, sequencing, and temporary works
Demonstrable leadership and people-management skills
Excellent understanding of UK health & safety legislation and best practice
Ability to manage multiple work fronts and subcontract packages
Relevant construction qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent)
SMSTS and CSCS required.
