ABOUT THE JOB



Purpose of the Role



We are looking for a Construction Manager to join our team based in Consett working across all Amethyst Homes Sites.

Reporting to the Managing Director this senior management role will be responsible for the safe development of our sites from land acquisition to completion in accordance with Company policies and procedures.

You will manage and control day to day activities on site in conformity with budgets, timelines and quality standards whilst ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental standards are maintained, implemented and adhered to.

Primary Responsibilities



Ensure all Amethyst Homes sites operate safely in accordance with the Company's Health and Safety procedures. Promote a positive safety culture and right first time quality culture. Ensure works are planned effectively, coordinated and delivered. Support the Site management team via clear guidelines, communication training and development to ensure works are carried out on time and to the required standard. Communicate with and co-ordinate activities with external third-parties such as warranty providers, building control. Monitor and inspect site progress to identify/rectify any defects. Ensure materials are called off in a timely manner and checked and stored in accordance with guidelines. Monitor supplier and subcontractor performance in line with cost reports from the Commercial Department.

Qualifications/Skills and Experience



Essential



NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management. Extensive previous production knowledge, including producing site programmes. Proven experience of working in a senior role in the construction industry, including managerial experience. Effective team motivator with the necessary drive and persistence to ensure goals are achieved. Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the construction industry and the relevant legislative requirements e.g. Health and Safety, Building regulations etc. Knowledge, understanding and experience dealing with Customer Care issues. Current CSCS Card SMSTS Full Driving Licence

Desirable



Membership of The Chartered Institute of Builders. Coaching or Mentoring Qualification e.g. ILM Level 3 or higher Temporary Works Coordinator Qualification
