We are looking for a Construction Manager to join our Building operating unit in Gloucestershire. The successful candidate will manage, monitor and supervise a section of works on a major public sector project, ensuring the project is delivered to company and project specifications. Internal and external fit-out experience is desirable for this role.
What you'll do:

• Manage the trade contractors including the production of working drawings, procurement and prefabrication and performance on site
• Oversee subcontractors, labour and material requirements for the contract and support Project Managers with matters primarily relating to on and off-site activities
• Coordinate and manage trades on site with regard to both build trades and MEP trades
• Solve site problems when they occur, providing feedback to Project Managers on any defects or defaults found and put forward any innovative ideas to alter current methodology
• Understand the design process, and work with the design manager, within cost restraints, to facilitate the design, and coordination of production information, to suit site requirements and conditions

What you'll bring to the role:

• Previous experience in working and managing major construction projects, ideally within public or commercial sector
• Construction related qualification to HNC level
• Have significant site based managerial experience and ideally management of people.
• Thorough understanding of the construction process & sequence, able to provide innovative solutions
• Internal and external fit-out experience is desirable for this role.
• Experience of working in the defence sector
• Experience of industrial building schemes - warehouses, logistics hubs etc.
• Experience of using cloud-based software to monitor progress i.e. Aphex, Asta Connect etc.

Security Clearance
This role requires a minimum level of security clearance and may also require a higher level of National Security Vetting. You should be aware that certain levels of clearance or specific projects and/or sites have UK residency requirements; and any dual or multiple nationalities must be declared. Any persons who do not fulfil these residency requirements may be unable to obtain the required level of clearance and would not be eligible to undertake this role.
