We are looking for a Construction Manager to join our infrastructure team in Manchester. The role's purpose will be to manage the pre-construction and construction of rail projects across the UK, through the early stages of development and into detailed design, delivery, commissioning and handover.
What you'll do:

  • Leading, managing and co-ordination of teams including supply chain to ensure that the works are delivered in accordance with the project performance, programme and budget.
  • Lead the development of the working methods, detailed design input and the review of designs.
  • Develop programmes, estimates and forecast budgets, then assess actual programme and productivity achieved, taking action where appropriate.
  • Ensure that the construction team keep and compile records and documentation, including daily site diary's, Quality documentation, Health and Safety documentation.
  • Responsible for the development of the Construction Phase Plan on the project and representing the project with external stakeholders.
  • Produce monthly reports/dashboards for performance and forecasting including monitoring and control of project performance, progress and cost.
  • Promote and lead the site Health and Safety culture. Ensure that works are planned and implemented to support and Injury free environment safety culture.
  • Undertake the CRE-Construction for Civils Disciplines duties for the project including approval of relevant documentation including for Entry into service, ITPs, WPPs, RFI / NCRs, Redlines, As Builts and being responsible for the production of Construction Engineering deliverables.
What you'll bring to the role:
  • Extensive Rail Experience required, with experience of delivering Network Rail station projects.
  • Experience of managing construction teams.
  • Degree level qualification (or equivalent) in a Civil Engineering allied subject or HND in Civil Engineering and vocational training in Engineering.
  • Experience of Civil Engineering structures and Engineering Principles and construction contract law.
  • Relevant CSCS Card
  • Training in Health & Safety and Environmental Management.
