Job Description

At Allison Homes, we pride ourselves on being an award-winning private housebuilder dedicated to creating beautiful homes and thriving communities across the East of England, the East Midlands and the South West. Our mission is to build affordable yet aspirational homes that are accessible and attainable for all, delivered with quality, consistency and care.

Our people are at the heart of our success. Collaboration is key to everything we do, and our values of

Trust, Teamwork, Kindness, Passion

and

Performance

guide how we operate, support each other, and deliver for our customers.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking enthusiastic and experienced individuals who want to be part of our journey and develop their careers alongside our expansion.

We are looking for a highly experienced Construction Manager to join our Central Region. This is a pivotal, senior operational role, responsible for overseeing multiple developments and driving excellence across build quality, safety, programme delivery, customer outcomes, and team performance.

This role requires someone with extensive PLC housebuilding experience and a strong track record of managing and coaching teams in a Contracts Manager or multi-site Project Manager capacity. This is not a step-up role for a single-site manager; we are seeking an established leader comfortable running complex developments and multiple site teams simultaneously.

A detailed understanding of NHBC PIJ, along with a proven history of achieving strong inspection performance - either personally or through the teams you have led - is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Oversight & Quality Assurance

Oversee all build activities across multiple developments from pre-start to completion, ensuring full compliance with building regulations, NHBC standards, and company procedures. Champion exceptional build quality, driving consistency of workmanship and ensuring homes meet Allison Homes' exacting standards. Lead final quality checks and prepare sites for NHBC inspections, delivering strong PIJ outcomes and achieving first-time approvals wherever possible
Health, Safety & Compliance

Embed a safety-first culture across all sites, ensuring full adherence to HSE requirements and company health and safety policies. Carry out regular site audits and compliance inspections, ensuring corrective actions are delivered promptly. Work collaboratively with site teams and subcontractors to uphold environmental standards and maintain safe, well-organised sites.
Programme & Budget Management:

Manage and interrogate build programmes, ensuring milestones are achieved and developments progress efficiently and within budget. Coordinate closely with commercial, technical, customer care and sales teams to ensure smooth operational delivery. Monitor labour, materials and cost controls, identifying opportunities to drive efficiencies and maintain commercial performance.
Leadership & Team Development:

Provide confident, visible, and consistent leadership across multiple sites. Coach, mentor and support Site Managers and Assistant Site Managers, helping them progress and improve capability. Build high-performing teams through strong communication, accountability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Reporting & Communication:

Produce accurate, timely monthly reports covering programme, KPIs, compliance, financials, and operational performance. Attend regional and group meetings, contributing to strategic planning and operational decision-making. Act as a key liaison between site teams, senior leadership, subcontractors, suppliers and customers.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications:

PLC housebuilding experience, with a proven ability to manage multiple sites or large, complex developments. Demonstrable success operating as a Contracts Manager or multi-site Project Manager in a high-volume environment. Strong NHBC PIJ knowledge and a track record of consistently strong inspection outcomes. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate and develop site teams. Deep understanding of construction processes, regulations, health and safety legislation, and NHBC requirements. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships internally and externally. Highly organised, analytical and proactive, with strong problem-solving abilities and a results-driven approach. Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:

HND or higher qualification in Construction, or time-served trades background with broad technical knowledge. CIOB membership or working towards membership preferred but not essential. Strong IT skills and confidence using construction management systems.
This list is not exhaustive.

The benefit package for this role includes:

Competitive salary. Discretionary Bonus Scheme. Car allowance (with option to join the company salary sacrifice car scheme). 25 days holiday (extending to 27 days holiday after two years of continuous service). Pension Scheme. Group Life Assurance. Group Income Protection Scheme. Smart Health Employee Assistance Programme. Opt in - Simply Health Cash Plan. Allison Homes House purchase discount scheme.
If you have the skills, experience, and drive to succeed in this role, we would love to hear from you!
