The Job Mission




This position plays a key role in supporting Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) operations and piping engineering delivery at Hinkley Point C. The role bridges the interface between the NDT contractor and the piping installation scope. Your future team works at the forefront of site execution, quality control, and programme assurance.

Deliver piping engineering support to the management of NDT scope on-site Assist the roll-out and integration of PAUT as a radiography replacement Coordinate engineering topics between piping and NDT contracts Track documentation and surveillance plans for contractor performance Respond to technical queries and Early Warnings from site activities Advise on NDT compliance in relation to welded piping systems Support piping installation reviews in line with NDT requirements Provide input into on-site decisions to resolve delivery blockers efficiently

Qualifications



Essential Skills and Qualifications



Strong knowledge of NDT techniques, including Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Radiographic Testing (RT), Dye Penetrant Inspection (DPI), and Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) Background in piping engineering across installation or construction phases Able to interpret technical drawings, weld maps, and inspection standards Experience managing contractor deliverables and surveillance documentation Comfortable resolving engineering issues independently, within safety boundaries Knowledge of QA/QC expectations for nuclear or complex infrastructure Familiarity with construction workflows, handover packs, and punch listing

Desired Skills and Qualifications



Degree in Mechanical or related Engineering discipline Experience or certification in Ultrasonic Testing (UT or PAUT) Awareness of CDM Regulations and site safety protocols Working knowledge of contract engineering or commercial processes Understanding of PWR systems or large-bore welded pipework
