Key Responsibilities
Diagnose, service, and repair plant machinery including vehicles, excavators, dumpers, compressors, rollers, and small tools.
Carry out planned preventative and proactive maintenance and safety inspections.
Respond to breakdowns on-site locations.
Quickly and effectively diagnose faults on equipment to ensure minimal downtime and communicate to line manager and site management.
Maintain accurate service records and paperwork.
Carry out any other duties, as instructed by the line manager.
Work to health & safety standards at all times.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Plant Fitter / Plant Mechanic / Heavy Equipment Engineer.
Strong knowledge of hydraulics, electrics, and diesel engines.
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
Good communication skills and a practical, problem-solving mindset.
NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in Plant Maintenance / Mechanical Engineering (desirable).
5+ years' experience in a similar role.
Full UK driving licence (essential).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
