Lead the Transformation of London's Fire & Rescue HQ Join the LFB as a Construction Project Manager (Client Side) and play a pivotal role in delivering a landmark 50m+ refurbishment of Lambeth Fire Station and our new HQ at 8 Albert Embankment. About the Role Based at our current HQ, 169 Union Street SE1, you will join the New HQ project team delivering a major 50m+ refurbishment at Lambeth Fire Station. This ambitious project will deliver a state-of-the-art fire station, modern HQ offices supporting innovative ways of working, and an events and exhibition space. You'll manage the full construction lifecycle-from RIBA Stage 3 to completion- ensuring high-quality delivery, budget control, and stakeholder engagement. You'll lead interim accommodation solutions, oversee consultants and contractors, and drive procurement and governance processes. Eligibility
Applicants need to hold a formal qualification in a nationally recognised property/project management qualification (eg. RICS, RIBA, Prince2, Association of Project Managers, etc) and be expected to be a member of one of the chartered institutes or similar. They will be required to demonstrate how their qualification or experience demonstrates their suitability for this property related project manager role.
Assessment Overview
Stage 1 To apply, please complete the online application, upload a copy of your up-to-date CV, upload a copy of your formal qualification in a nationally recognised property/project management qualification and provide evidence to address the following selection criteria: 1. Candidates must have significant experience of project managing property related projects similar in financial size and nature to those described in the Main Duties and Responsibilities, including contract management of both consultants and contractors. Experience does not necessarily need to be fire &rescue based and does not necessarily need to be from a client based role, but an understanding of both of these will be an advantage. 2. Experience of overseeing property projects using NEC (New Engineering Contract) suites of contract or similar contracts with a clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the different parties to the contract. Experience required in acting as or overseeing Contract Administrator and Client's Representative. 3. Direct experience of overseeing appointment and management of building contractors via competitive tender or framework, including understanding of different procurement options and their advantages and disadvantages and of participating in tender evaluation processes. 4. Good interpersonal skills in order to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and delivery partners at all levels. 5. Knowledge of good Health and Safety practices applying both in an office environment and on building sites, together with an awareness of the relevant legislation and regulations. 6. Awareness of equality issues together with a commitment to ensuring appropriate policies are implemented and adhered to.
