We are seeking a dependable and experienced Construction Runner / Driver to join our growing team. This role is central to the smooth day-to-day operation of our construction projects, combining transport duties with on-site support when not on the road. It requires a confident driver with van and trailer experience, a good understanding of construction materials, and the flexibility to assist wherever needed on site.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate company vehicles, including vans with trailers, transporting materials, tools, and equipment between job sites and suppliers.
Carry out loading and unloading tasks efficiently, ensuring materials arrive in good condition and on time.
Conduct regular vehicle inspections, routine maintenance checks, and ensure compliance with road safety and company standards.
Coordinate directly with the site and office teams to plan daily delivery routes and schedules.
Support labouring tasks when not driving, such as moving materials, assisting trades, basic site preparation, and maintaining a clean and organised working environment.
Manage and maintain stock levels, ensuring materials are appropriately stored and deliveries are documented.
Represent the company professionally when dealing with clients, suppliers, and team members.
Follow all site health & safety protocols and maintain awareness of safe working practices.
Requirements:
Full, clean UK driving licence with experience driving vans and towing trailers.
Proven driving experience within a construction or logistics environment.
Strong understanding of construction materials and their handling requirements.
Reliable, self-motivated, and well-organised with good communication skills.
Comfortable working in a practical, hands-on role that involves physical activity throughout the day.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive approach to supporting ongoing site operations.
Desirable:
Valid CSCS card.
Experience working on residential or commercial construction sites.
Mechanical or vehicle maintenance knowledge.
