As we expand, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Site Manager to oversee the delivery of a new school site in Bolton.
The Role
You will take the lead on managing the design, build, and maintenance phases of large-scale construction project, ensuring delivery to the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance. This is a hands-on role, based on site, coordinating multiple contractors and liaising with stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with the needs of our educational provision.
This role will initially focus on the delivery of a new school build and will transition into ongoing site management once operational.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day site operations and manage multiple contractors.
Ensure all works are delivered to specification, budget, and timeline.
Liaise with architects, surveyors, contractors, and the senior leadership team.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and safeguarding requirements at all times.
Manage site maintenance schedules and ongoing building compliance.
Identify risks, provide solutions, and maintain detailed project records.
Report regularly on progress, issues, and costs to the Project Managers.
Site security.
About You
Proven experience managing large-scale construction or refurbishment projects, ideally within the educational sector (schools, SEN settings).
Strong knowledge of design and build processes.
Excellent contractor management and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and deliver projects to tight deadlines.
Strong understanding of health & safety, CDM regulations, and compliance frameworks.
Organised, proactive, and able to take ownership of complex projects.
A deep understanding of design-and-build processes and contractor management.
Strong working knowledge of CDM Regulations, health & safety, and building compliance
Relevant qualifications (e.g. SMSTS, IOSH, NEBOSH, or equivalent) - desirable
