Site Manager - Civil Engineering

We are a family-owned civil engineering company based in the North East, proud of our strong reputation for quality, reliability, and teamwork. With a solid pipeline of projects, we have secured ongoing work with several Tier 1 contractors across the region for the next year and beyond, and are now looking for an experienced Site Manager to join our growing team.
The successful candidate will take ownership of site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard. You'll be experienced in reinforced concrete works, drainage, and hard landscaping, with a hands-on approach to managing people and performance on site.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day site activities and drive progress to meet programme targets.
Coordinate subcontractors, operatives, and suppliers to ensure smooth delivery.
Maintain high standards of Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality compliance.
Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
Oversee quality assurance and ensure works meet design and specification.
Communicate effectively with project teams, clients, and stakeholders.
Produce and maintain accurate site documentation and reports.
Requirements:
Proven experience managing civil engineering works involving reinforced concrete, drainage, and hard landscaping.
Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams.
Excellent understanding of H&S legislation and on-site best practice.
Valid CSCS, SMSTS, and First Aid certificates (essential).
Experience using MS Office and preferably MS Project
Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
Experience in public realm or infrastructure projects.
HNC/HND or degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline or equivalent.
