Job Description


A reputable, Legal 500 law firm based in Reading is seeking a Construction Solicitor to join its successful team. In this role, you will handle a wide range of construction law matters, both contentious and non-contentious, use your expertise to provide comprehensive legal advice, guide clients through complex construction projects, and resolve disputes when needed. The firm\'s clients include large developers, construction companies and corporate owner/occupiers.

Responsibilities

- Advise clients on all aspects of construction law, including both non-contentious and contentious matters
- Assisting with the resolution of construction related disputes including assisting with the conduct of adjudications, and court-based disputes - The work will be a mix of work acting for claimants and defendants
- Draft, review and negotiate construction contracts, agreements and documentation
- Provide legal guidance on construction project procurement, planning and risk management
- Manage disputes, including claims, arbitration and litigation, related to construction projects
- Conduct legal research to stay updated with construction laws and regulations
- Collaborate with clients, contractors and other stakeholders to ensure project success
- Represent clients in negotiations, mediations and court proceedings when necessary
- Work might involve assisting our real estate colleagues on the construction aspects of development transactions including development obligations, warranties and copyright issues

Requirements:

- Qualified solicitor 3-10 years\' PQE with a background in construction law
- Experience in handling both non-contentious and contentious construction matters
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement and project management
- Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Previous experience in a well-regarded law firm or construction practice
